My favourite printing technique is Mokuhanga - traditional Japanese woodcut. This is a water based woodblock printing which involves carving of the blocks using specialised tools then printing with finely ground water based pigments mixed with nori [ rice paste ], special brushes and hand printing with a baren on Japanese paper.
Although my prints are based on landscapes that caught my imagination I interpret them in an abstract way concentrating on shape, colour and texture.
